The Board of Education (BOE) of the Institute of Town Planners Sri Lanka invites applications from eligible candidates to follow the course of Higher Diploma in Urban Planning conducted by CURP the training arm of the Institute. [Download the Application Form]
The eligibility criteria for following the Higher Diploma in Urban Planning is as follows;
Category 01: Any Bachelor’s Degree obtained from a recognized university equivalent to SLQF Level 5 or 6 and currently working in the urban planning related field.
Category 02: Any diploma or higher diploma qualification obtained, equivalent to NVQ level 7 and completed 3 years working in a urban planning related field.
Those who successfully complete the Higher Diploma in Urban Planning, with one year of planning experience shall be entitled for the Associate Membership of the Institute, a pre-requisite to qualify for the Corporate Membership.
Higher Diploma in Urban Planning is conducted by the Center for Urban & Regional Planning (CURP) under the guidance of BOE.
The course will be conducted on a part-time and completed with lectures and workshops. It will be held on weekends and holidays, and will be conducted for maximum of 2 years. Candidates are required to obtain 120 credits to obtain the Diploma.
The Course Fee is Rs.300,000.00 and the candidate can pay the fee on installment basis with a down payment of Rs.100,000.00 as the first installment.
The prospective candidates should forward their applications together with an application fee of Rs.500.00. The specimen application could be downloaded from here, or a hard copy could be collected from Institute office at No.33, CHPB Building, Parliament Road, Pelawatta a payment of Rs.500.00.
